The "Reine du Cervin" cow fighting festival on 8 August is just around the corner. To advertise the traditional event, Zermatt Tourism has filmed a follow-up to its web series from 2018. An episode will be published from Monday 26 July on Zermatt Tourism's social media channels, with three new episodes in total. In the last edition of the web series around the traditional festival, the two main actors David and Benny managed to bring both the image of Zermatt and the Director of Tourism Daniel Luggen into disrepute. To avoid being banished from Zermatt, the two try to repair the damage with an original idea – using very unconventional means and aided and abetted by some very well-known Swiss personalities. A new lamp hangs inconspicuously above a white tabletop in the Zermatt Tourism Office. But this is no ordinary lamp. Developed by Lukas Julen, a young entrepreneur from Zermatt, it projects an interactive surface onto the table with audio playback. The content can be accessed on the surface of the table – even though it is just a standard table, with no technology adjustments. The projection allows guests to call up web-based content for inspiration: whether it's webcams, weather, digital brochures or hiking maps. The "Lamp+" was recently installed in the tourism office and is now available for any visitors to try.

Zermatt Tourism started selling “Ten percent more Matterhorn” vouchers in the middle of May. Anyone who purchased a voucher automatically received an additional ten percent of the value. This campaign has come to an end now. Within about three weeks guests have bought Zermatt vouchers worth over 3 million Swiss francs. Vouchers are valid for ten years and can be redeemed at over 150 partners throughout the destination, including Zermatt Bergbahnen, many restaurants, accommodation providers and shops.

New webcams have now been installed across the whole destination, with significantly better image quality than their predecessors. They are 360-degree cameras that show the whole surrounding area. Some of the webcams can also take fantastic nighttime shots. The live images can be seen at any time on the websites of Zermatt Tourism and of Zermatt Bergbahnen. The webcam images will also appear in the "Matterhorn" app soon. A selection of live recordings can also be seen on smart TVs (via Feratel) and on SRF Meteo, RTS, ORF 3 and ARD-alpha TV channels.

At the 85th Annual General Meeting of Zermatt Tourism, new members were selected for the Committee, which re-confirmed Paul-Marc Julen as President. Zermatt – Matterhorn had a positive financial year and reported an increase in occupancy rates. Their success encourages the destination to remain innovative.
