Due to the current situation in connection with the Coronavirus, the Swiss authorities have ordered the closure of all cable cars and mountain railways, bars, restaurants and shops nationwide. Shops selling food or goods for basic needs will remain open.

New webcams are online (1)

New webcams are online

New webcams have now been installed across the whole destination, with significantly better image quality than their predecessors. They are 360-degree cameras that show the whole surrounding area. Some of the webcams can also take fantastic nighttime shots. The live images can be seen at any time on the websites of Zermatt Tourism and of Zermatt Bergbahnen. The webcam images will also appear in the "Matterhorn" app soon. A selection of live recordings can also be seen on smart TVs (via Feratel) and on SRF Meteo, RTS, ORF 3 and ARD-alpha TV channels.

Paul-Marc Julen confirmed as President of Zermatt Tourism

At the 85th Annual General Meeting of Zermatt Tourism, new members were selected for the Committee, which re-confirmed Paul-Marc Julen as President. Zermatt – Matterhorn had a positive financial year and reported an increase in occupancy rates. Their success encourages the destination to remain innovative.

The winners of the 20th MILESTONE prize have been announced - the start-up Bonfire came out ahead of the Arosa Bear Sanctuary and the Glacier Express “Excellence Class” in the “Innovation” category. The “MILESTONE Premiere” goes to PrivateDeal. Jonas Gass, Co-Director of the Hotel Nomad, wins in the “Future Leaders” category, while Hanna Rychener Kistler wins the “Lifetime” award.
