It promises to be a railway station eye-catcher: the Zermatt Chalet and oversized snow globe with a miniature replica of the Matterhorn. Passers-by who enter the chalet can expect a cosily laid table and the unique "Home of Winter" vibe. Visitors to the stand can also experience a virtual tour with facts and figures about Zermatt and take part in a competition to win overnight stays, ski passes, Zermatt Unplugged tickets and various outdoor activities in Zermatt.
The “Home of Winter” chalet opened on 8 and 9 November 2022 at Lucerne railway station. Zermatt Tourism will take the chalet on tour to the following locations in the coming days and weeks:
- Zurich, 11.11.2022
- Basel, 18 and 19.11.2022
- Geneva, 25.11.2022
Partnering the promotional campaign with Zermatt Tourism are the Hotel Cervo, Zermatters, Zermatt Bergbahnen AG, Gornergrat Railways, Zermatt Unplugged and the Fuchs Bakery. The campaign was brough to life by Promotion-Tools AG in cooperation with APG.
