Among the 850 best restaurants in Switzerland, 17 can be found in Zermatt. GaultMillau tested them, made their selection and listed them in the 2019 GaultMillau Guide Switzerland. Two restaurants in Zermatt received 17 points – the mark for the best quality and high consistency: The After Seven in the Backstage Hotel and the Ristorante Capri in the Mont Cervin Palace. These two are among the 70 best restaurants in Switzerland.
Gault-Millau awarded a total of 242 points in Zermatt. The restaurant Al Bosco in the Riffelalp Resort 2222m, which was awarded 13 points in 2018, is missing from the list in 2019 because the restaurant will be replaced by a new restaurant concept. The Veranda in Hotel Mirabeau Alpine Residence and The Omnia, which both received 15 points in 2018, lost one point each, whereas Restaurant Paradies and Restaurant Uncorked in the Chalet Hotel Schönegg received 14 points each, one more than the previous year.
