New gastronomy concept at the Unique Hotel Post Zermatt

Iconic in Zermatt for its design and lifestyle concept, the Unique Hotel Post features four different restaurants and five bars and clubs. The coming season will see a host of innovative and interesting gastronomy concept adaptations and expansions.

New executive chef Diogo Monteiro Correia, who found his way to the village after a long successful stint as a chef on the mountain (Restaurant Chez Vrony) has collaborated with the former renowned chef of the Hotel Giardino Ascona, Adrian Bührer, to create innovative food concepts.

"VIVANDA - sapori mediterranei"

The restaurant "The Factory", with Mediterranean specialities and a focus on pizza and pasta dishes, will open on 25 November 2021 with an updated and refreshing gastronomy concept under the new name "VIVANDA - sapori mediterranei".

The VIVANDA restaurant will be an authentic Italian ristorante that spotlights original, fresh and home-made Italian ingredients, preparation methods and dishes. Thanks to a new charcoal grill, various special fish and meat dishes, such as an authentic Italian "bistecca alla fiorentina", will also be offered in future. A reduced pasta and pizza selection from the wood-fired oven will still feature on the menu.

The restaurant name VIVANDA means "dish", "food" and "delicacy" in Italian. The name was chosen to reflect the Italian-inspired gourmet delights and preparation methods.

«BAO BAR – asian street food”

The current P.O.S.T restaurant, with its sharing food concept, will also enjoy a revamp. It is redesigned as the Unique Hotel Post's "Pop Up Restaurant". The hosts will give free rein to their gastronomic creativity here, responding to the new, constantly changing needs and wishes of guests in a way that is just as fast, surprising and innovative.

The new, contemporary winter gastronomy concept "BAO BAR - asian street food" will be launched at the beginning of December 2021. It features delicious and on-trend Bao Buns, created in collaboration with award-winning chef Adrian Bührer.

The BAO BAR is a straightforward lounge bar concept. Guests can enjoy Asian delicacies or a selection of bao buns to in-vogue lounge music and sophisticated drinks until the early hours of the morning.

Room renovation

Alongside the new gastronomy concepts, the rooms at the Unique Hotel Post have also been redesigned. In collaboration with internationally renowned interior designer Federica Palacios, previously responsible for the design of the 4-star-superior design and lifestyle Unique Hotel Post during the total renovation in 2007 and for all subsequent renovation and extension work, all rooms are currently being refreshed and redecorated for the coming winter season.

This contemporary rejuvenation is part of the organic process of further development of the original design and hotel concept of the Unique Hotel Post. The design conveys a dignified yet fashionable effect that reflects an air of timeless ambiance through its authenticity. It places special emphasis on sustainability and the fusion of tradition and modernity.
