Taste of Zermatt

Zermatt is a true gourmet eldorado. No other place in Switzerland has such a high concentration of top chefs. They showcase their skills at a wide range of culinary events and thrill their guests – these events are a true feast.

Every year, Zermatt is awarded several Michelin stars and Gault Millau points, more than any other place in Switzerland. Several culinary events are now coming together under the umbrella brand ‘Taste of Zermatt’, with the aim of maintaining Zermatt's superior gastronomy.

Gondola Fondue

As the last rays of sun illuminate Zermatt’s majestic mountain peaks, cable car passengers can enjoy an exquisite cheese fondue as they glide past the Matterhorn. This traditional dish is perfectly complemented by crisp, refreshing wines from the Valais region, a variety of entrées and desserts, as well as a locally distilled digestif.

Gondola Breakfast

Guests are treated to a sumptuous breakfast as they enjoy the 70-minute return journey from Zermatt to Trockener Steg aboard a cable car. Throughout the meal, the breath-taking panoramic view of the Matterhorn slowly evolves and new culinary delights are served at each stop along the way. It’s an unforgettable start to the day.

Kitchen Party

The Kitchen Party gives Zermatt’s top chefs a chance to showcase their world-class expertise in front of a live audience. Guests watch in awe as the chefs prepare seasonal and regional dishes at a variety of different cooking stations. The gourmet creations are then served together with outstanding wines from Valais.

Horugüet

On the first Saturday of October, a culinary hike takes place in Zermatt, surrounded by an unique mountain scenery. With a personality connected to Zermatt, the hike passes six mountain restaurants, where different regional specialities can be eaten.
