Folklore Festival

Every year on the second weekend in August, Zermatt is all about Swiss tradition, when the Folklore Festival takes place.

The highlight is a large parade with 1,200 participants wending their way through Zermatt. They show off their Swiss tradition with folklore dress, dances and colourful costumes from nostalgic times. After the parade, the different clubs and groups will have song, music and dance presentations on the festival grounds near Oberen Matten and on the Kirchplatz. The Folklore Festival is an unforgettable day at the foot of the Matterhorn with traditional Swiss music, dance and a great atmosphere.
