In the center of the village, surrounded by the imposing Valais mountains, is the Whymper Stube Zermatt - a rustic restaurant named after the legendary first ascent of the Matterhorn, Edward Whymper.

Warm wood tones, chequered patterns, exquisite antiques and historic pictures tell of Zermatt's fascinating history. The cuisine at Whymper Stube Zermatt celebrates authentic, traditional Swiss dishes. Cheese fondue and raclette made from local produce are served alongside a selection of regional wines and spirits.

Michel Reybier Hospitality will take over the Whymperstube from May 2024. Michel Reybier Hospitality already owns several hotel and catering establishments in the destination.
