Now as in the past, fans of winter sports and skiing from all over the world get together at the foot of the Matterhorn to experience perfect ski days with many kilometres of pistes, fantastic downhills, sun and snow. And because in Zermatt – then and now – winter begins a little earlier, Zermatt's version of an advent calendar starts on 1 November 2019.
The SNOWember calendar, with the tagline "then and now", has a new image every day looking back at Zermatt’s traditional past as a winter sports resort. Each image is accompanied by a small story and a question to answer. Guests who answer correctly can take part in the competition, with each correct answer increasing their chances of winning the main prize.
