"Hooray, I'm in Zermatt! What can I do?" You don’t have a lot of time, so let us help you to find your way around.
I'm in Zermatt for two hours. What can I do?
Take the funicular railway up to the Sunnegga paradise or the gondola cable lift to the Schwarzsee paradise via Furi. Or join a sight-seeing tour of the village, including a visit to the Matterhorn Museum and the historic part of the village. Have a look at the Mountaineers' Cemetery (Bergsteigerfriedhof) and feel a shiver run down your spine. You also have a wonderful view of the Matterhorn from the church bridge.

I’m only in Zermatt for half a day. What can I do?
Choose the view that you would prefer to see, and then head up to the corresponding site, 3,000 m. above sea level. Undertake a short hike in the mountains. Or join a sight-seeing tour of the village, including a visit to the Matterhorn Museum and the historic part of the village. Have a look at the Mountaineers' Cemetery (Bergsteigerfriedhof). You could also fly around the peak of the Matterhorn in a helicopter from Air Zermatt.

I'm in Zermatt for one day. What can I do?
It would be a good idea to do some skiing or snowboarding. You can do that all the year round here. If you don’t fancy that, choose the view that you would prefer to see, and then head up to the corresponding site, 3,000 m. above sea level. Or you could soar above Zermatt on a paraglider.

Do I have to use a mountain railway to see the Matterhorn?
There are several viewpoints in the village from which you can enjoy a view of the Matterhorn: the bridge by the church (Kirchbrücke), and the bridges leading to Steg, Schluhmatten or Zen Stecken.
