Zermatt/Cervinia: top snow conditions around the Matterhorn!
Winter in Zermatt started quite a while ago. Now 230 km of pistes are open. And they will grow continuously. The snow conditions are top – in Zermatt and on the Italian side of he ski region.
Zermatt has top pistes and snow conditions. We’ve got snow, great snow! Up to now, 230 kilometres of pistes have been open in the destination.
Now open By now open ski-slopes in the Matterhorn glacier paradise area: Trockener Steg (2939 m) to the Matterhorn glacier paradise (Klein Matterhorn, 3883 m), equal to 900 height metres. The pistes also extend as far as Plan Maison (2561 m) and Valtournenche (1524 m) in Italy. And more pistes: Trockener Steg-Furgg; Sandiger Boden, Piste Nr. 63; Theodulsee, Piste Nr. 66.
Area Rothorn – open facilities: Zermatt-Sunnegga-Blauherd-Rothorn; chairlift Kumme; cable car Blauherd-Gant; cabin facility Gant-Hohtälli. Open pistes: Rothorn-Blauherd, piste Nr. 11, Rotweng; Blauherd-Sunnegga, piste Nr. 7, Standard; Kumme, piste Nr. 14; bonding piste Hohtälli-Gornergrat, piste Nr. 44.

In winter the resort has 360 kilometres of well-prepared pistes. In summer, the ski scene moves to the Theodul Glacier with 21 kilometres of pistes await snowsport fans. The ski region is constantly extended in autumn. The Snowmaker, a machine that uses a vacuum procedure to produce around 1900 tonnes of snow per day in temperatures above zero and without the addition of any chemicals, is of great benefit for around two weeks in early autumn. If required, 65 per cent of Zermatt’s pistes can be covered with technical snow.
