The glittering Igloo Village is located in the ski region between Riffelberg and Gornergrat. It offers a 360-degree view of 29 peaks – including the Matterhorn – towering 4000 metres above you. A piping hot fondue tastes even better against this backdrop − whether you are with your soulmate, family or simply with good friends.
A lunch fondue in the Igloo Village is the ideal excursion destination for nature lovers and culinary connoisseurs. After an impressive ride on the Gornergrat Railway, you will reach the Igloo Village with a 10-minute hike from Rotenboden.
The offer includes:
- train ride Zermatt-Gornergrat-Zermatt
- hot wine punch or tea/coffee
- cheese fondue (takes place on the outside bar)
Between February and April, the Gornergrat Railway takes you daily to Rotenboden for lunch fondue in the igloo village. After visiting the Gornergrat you return to Rotenboden by train. Then a 10-15 minute walk takes you to the igloo village. There you will be served the legendary igloo fondue with a hot drink at the outdoor bar. Afterwards you will return on foot to Rotenboden and the Gornergrat Raiway takes you back to Zermatt.
