Husky Sleigh Rides in Front of the Matterhorn

Package:
It starts at almost 3000 metres above sea level. A guide will take you from Trockener Steg to the nearby one-kilometre-long circuit. There you will get to know the huskies. The experienced musher (husky owner) tells you interesting facts about the dogs while you pet them. Then the animals are hooked up to the sled and off they go! While you enjoy the ride, the musher steers the sledge and calls out commands to the animals. Meanwhile, the guide takes photos of you. The event lasts a total of one and a half hours, including the hike. On the circuit, a sledge pulled by 8 to 10 huskies. 1 to 2 adults may sit on the sled. Children under 12 years of age may ride on the sledge together with an adult.

Before the event:
On the evening before you will receive a briefing by phone.

Meeting point:
A husky guide will be waiting for you at the restaurant Trockener Steg. Please be on time! He/she will lead you to the huskies.The easy hike to the Husky Circuit takes 10 minutes downhill and 15 minutes uphill. One way is 950 metres long and there are 80 metres of ascent and descent.

Children up to and with 11 years receive a reduction of CHF 40.00 on the price. The date of birth is the deciding factor for the reduction. For this purpose, an official identity document stating the date of birth is required. A Corona safety concept is in place during the event. The ticket for the Cablecar to Trockener Steg retour is not included. Insurance is the participant´s responsibility.

Clothing:
Winter clothing is required for this activity: Sturdy hiking boots (ankle height) to protect the ankles (available to hire from the sports shop) Winter hat, Warm gloves Sunglasses and Sun cream. Ski shoes are not suitable for this sleigh ride. Skiers can bring their winter hiking boots in a bag and change into them on site. Shoes can be stored safely at the meeting point.

Restrictions:
Children under 2 years old are not allowed to ride on the sleighs. Pregnant women require written permission from their doctor.People over 100 kg need to request permission in advance.

Booking conditions:
Once payment has been received, your booking time is reserved. A minimum of 8 participants per day is required in order for the activity to go ahead. If there are fewer than this, we will inform you as soon as possible and refund your fee. If there is bad weather or the skiing area is closed (if it is too windy, for example), then we will offer an alternative date.

Cancellation before the event:
Up to 60 days before the event, 80% of the fee will be refunded.
14 days before: 50%.
6 days before: 20%.
48 hours before the event: no refund.

An administration fee of CHF 45 will be charged for any cancellation.

Cancellations must be made in writing (letter or email) to Zermatt-event management GmbH.
