The short version of the Haute Route from Sion to Zermatt with e-Alps.com is ideal for friends and family who prefer a three-day bike trip to a seven-day one. There are still plenty of stunning landscapes and picturesque accommodation.
Day 1: From Vercorin via Moiry lake to Saint Luc
The Alpine pastures in Vercorin are the ideal starting point for an Alpine e-bike tour. The first stopping point is the turquoise Moiry lake – the ideal place for an idyllic picnic at the foot of a mountain glacier. After a stunning crossing with views of the the Valais four-thousanders, you reach the historic Bella Tola hotel in Saint Luc. Time to relax in the hotel’s own spa.

Day 2: Hiking surrounding by four-thousanders
In the morning, you hike up to the Meidpass and from there into Turtmanntal with views of several four-thousanders. You then get back in the saddle and ride along a beautiful path to the Moosalp, where a mountain hut at 2,000 m with a Nordic bath and sauna and an incredible Alpine backdrop awaits.
On foot: 10 km, D+ 730 m, D- 460 m
By e-bike: 48 km, D+ 1,850 m, D- 2,000 m
Day 3: The iconic Matterhorn
After breakfast in the meadow, it's time to head for Zermatt. And there it is – the majestic Matterhorn! From just above Zermatt you have wonderful views of this mountain while relaxing in a hot tub.

Day 4: Zermatt’s charm
Today, you have time to enjoy Zermatt’s traditional charm and look back on the best moments of your e-bike journey.

E-Bike and equipment:
The ideal e-bike for the journey in the Alps will have at least 140 mm travel front and rear with disc brakes. As you’ll be cycling up and down a lot in the mountains, make sure that your tyres and shoes are suitable for this and have adequate grip. You should also ensure that you service your e-bike before the journey to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Don’t forget that you will need two batteries for each stage. The equipment list will help you prepare what to pack so you don't forget anything! The stages all have a low level of difficulty.
