Appropriate behaviour on mountain hikes
On this tour you will practise 1:1 walking techniques in rough and slippery terrain, such as in scree fields, on slippery grassy slopes or over old snow fields. You will learn how to use hiking poles in a variety of ways when crossing streams, on snowfields or in steep terrain.
Program
- Tour planning: 3x3 reduction method
- We practice 1:1 hiking techniques in different terrain
- Boulder fields, steep grassy slopes, and streams
- Frozen substrates, old snow fields and fresh snow fields

Arrival in Täsch or Zermatt: hotel check-in, store luggage

Day one: Randa - Rötiboden
Meeting point: 10 hrs Hotel Täsch / Zermatt
Distance: 8 km. Ascent: 703m Descent: 675m. Hiking time :3h 30min.
On the legendary Weisshorn hut path, we hike up to the Rötiboden, pass by the high
Stafeln back to Täsch. Here you practice various hiking pole techniques, rocky passages, and steep forest hiking trails.
Day two: Täschalp - Weingartensee
Meeting point: 09.30 hrs Hotel Täsch / Zermatt
Distance: 9.8km. ascent/descent. 1035m. Hiking time: 4h 30min
Taxi ride to Täschalp, hike to the Täschhütte and up to the Weingartensee. We warm up on the comfortable hut trail. At the Täschhütte you can enjoy the impressive panorama of the surrounding 4000m peaks. We use the steep ascent through the Tälli to the Wissgrat to practice the various stick techniques on the ascent. At Weingartensee, we practice orientation in pathless terrain and enjoy the powerful vibrations of this high altitude landscape extensively. We also practice hiking over different surfaces, screes, big stones nad over grassy slopes. We overcome exposed areas. Back on the Täschalp, we will be picked up by the hotel taxi.
