Snowshoeing-technique course with avalanche-rescue course
Description
With the right snowshoeing technique, you will be unstoppable on your snowshoes.
Technique:
- A good walking technique uphill and downhill saves energy and is more efficient.
- On hard firn snow and icy areas, there are a few tricks that make walking on these surfaces easier and make the tour safer.
- Which snowshoe is the right one?
- What do you want to do where and how do you achieve it?
- Which route should you choose?
- What is 3x3 reduction-method?
- Included: Course documents for the snowshoe-walking technique.
Avalanche rescue:
- We choose the route based on the current avalanche bulletin
- We use a snow profile to check the quality of the snow
- What do the following words mean: Gering (low), mässig (moderate), erheblich (significant), gross (high), sehr gross (very high)
- How to react when an avalanche is set off?
- We practice searching, probing and digging with an avalanche transceiver
- We know what to do when the rescue helicopter arrives.

Start: 09:30 hrs
End: 16:00 hrs
Meeting point: Matterhorn-Express valley station Zermatt, drive to Schwarzsee.
Age: minimum 10 years old
