Experience an unforgettable adventure in the heart of the Swiss Alps! Join our workshop and discover the majestic beauty of this breathtaking mountain region. For two days you will be accompanied by an experienced hiking guide who not only reveals the secrets of the Matterhorn, but also explains the fascinating world of glaciers. The workshop consists of various activities including a guided hike at the foot of the Matterhorn and an introduction to the basics of mountain hiking. This workshop is suitable for participants of all levels, we adapt the activities to your ability and ensure you have a safe and memorable experience. At the end of this workshop, you will take home your own personal Matterhorn story!
Day 1: Arrival, hotel check-in / luggage deposit
Starting point: 10:00 hrs from the valley station Matterhorn Glacier-Paradise with the cable car to Furi
Day 1: Furi - Riffelalp
Start of the hike from the valley station Furi, journey to Furi
Distance: 8 km
Ascent/descent: 560 m
Hiking time: 3 h
The trail wanders through alpine meadows over the suspension bridge to the glacier garden. During the hike, you practice walking in the landslide and over large stones. You also practically learn how to use the handling of hiking sticks when walking uphill and traversing grassy slopes during the ascent to Riffelalp.
Here you can enjoy the unique panorama of the Matterhorn a little longer. During the descent through the forest to Furi, you experience the relieving braking action of the hiking poles.
Final check-in at the hotel/Dinner
Day 2: Schwarzsee - Zermatt
Start of the day: 9:00 hrs from the valley station of the respective cable car, ascent to Schwarzsee
Distance: 14 km
Ascent: 180 m
Descent: 1152 m
Hiking time: 4 h 00
Now the big moment has come, you are very close to the Matterhorn! You feel the magical spirit it radiates and experience the majestic mountain from its most beautiful side and hike to Staffelalp to admire the north wall. Today’s topic is the different routes to the summit and some interesting stories about them.
