The Best Ski Resort guest satisfaction study, with ratings from 50,000 skiers made directly on 20 selection criteria, is considered the largest independent and most significant study in the Alpine region. Zermatt came out on top for the second time in a row in the overall rankings. With top results in the categories for piste preparation and quality, ambiance, conviviality and exclusivity as well as top 5 rankings in accommodations and hotels, snow certainty, safety on the pistes, experiencing nature, après ski, quiet and relaxation, wellness offering, ski schools, authenticity, first visitors as well as size and piste offerings of the ski region, the international Zermatt-Cervinia ski arena at the foot of the Matterhorn can more than satisfy the needs of its guests.
“We are very pleased to receive the 2016 Best Ski Resort award,” said Markus Hasler, CEO of the Zermatt Bergbahnen AG. “Especially since these laurels also rest on the honest ratings of our international guests with their worldwide destination experience. We regard this award as further confirmation to continue to invest in the quality of our services and transportation infrastructure, such as the ultramodern Gant-Blauherd chairlift and the construction of the world’s highest 3S gondola lift to the Klein Matterhorn.” For Daniel Luggen, Tourism President in Zermatt, the award is once again proof that Zermatt does many things correctly. “Thanks to our good collaboration within the resort, we are able to orient our offerings directly to the needs of our guests. In Zermatt, we have recognised that what the guest requests are our focus and all of us together must make a contribution to our success. I am very pleased that this is also perceived as such by our guests. There is nothing more honest than the feedback from our visitors. Therefore, this award is also so important for us.”
