Your perfect family day …

...on foot

In just 20 minutes, the Sunnegga funicular and a gondola take you to Blauherd (2,571 m), with children under 9 years old travelling free with the Wolli Card.

1

Beautiful sunshine and stunning views accompany you all the way on the hike from Blauherd to Fluhalp. Information boards along the winter hiking trail tell you all about "How animals survive the winter". You can also take a toboggan on the trail.

2

Ice crystals glisten in the sun and the fresh snow crunches under your feet. There are spectacular views of the majestic Matterhorn. A brief stop for a family photo, a snowball fight, building a snowman or simply playing about in the snow.

3

Moving around in the fresh Alpine air works up an appetite. Bergrestaurant Fluhalp at 2,606 m is a great place to recharge your batteries, with incredible views.

4

Re-energised, it’s time to head back to Blauherd and take the cable car from there to the village.

5

If you’ve still got some energy left, you could be an Ice Prince or Princess on the ice rink. From December to the end of February, the natural and artificial ice rinks in the middle of Zermatt are free to use.

6

Or maybe you’d prefer a journey of discovery around the village. There is hidden treasure in Zermatt. It’s a case for the whole family!

7

After all these adventures, having a cosy evening meal together is the perfect end to it.
