The perfect family weekend
Are you looking for a really special family excursion? Zermatt is organising one you’ll like for the weekend of 7 to 8 September 2019. Take a look at our suggestions.

Whether you're planning to arrive on the Friday or set off early on Saturday morning, Zermatt is easy to reach by public transport. It only takes 3 ¼ hours from Zurich or Basel.
You can relax the minute you set off and simply look forward to a wonderful family adventure.
Here’s a tip: With the Junior Travelcard or the Family Travelcard, children under 16 years old accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket travel for free throughout Switzerland.

Accomodation
There is a wide choice of accommodation in Zermatt. You can book one of the family-friendly hotels here, or for a longer stay, how about one of the family-friendly holiday apartments?
It is even easier if you book the Miss-Zermatt-Package right away.

Here’s a tip: With the Wolli Card, children under 9 years old travel free on all mountain railways, stay overnight for free in many of the hotels and holiday apartments, don’t pay any holiday tax, and benefit from lots of other attractive offers.

Friday, 6th September
After checking into your room, it’s time for your adventure to start, with a short walk around the village or a treasure hunt, followed by a delicious evening meal

Saturday, 7th September
At 10:00am on Saturday morning, the Blacknose sheep will be smartened up in the Traditional Julen stables. You’ll see how the sheep are washed, combed and made beautiful for the competition. A small snack is included

Designed for kids! The Coop Family Hike is going to be loud and wild this summer! Robin Hood needs your help! Prince Hansi is threatening Hiking Valley, the last (Hi)Kingdom in Switzerland. Join Robin Hood’s Band of Thieves from the Schärliwald, learn some new skills and help him save the kingdom.Register now for this free circular walk. Sunday, 8th September
This Sunday is a very special day, because it’s mascot Wolli’s birthday. To celebrate, there will be an exclusive Shepherd Brunch and the annual Shepherd’s Festival in the Matterhorn Arena in Zen Stecken.
