Today you drive up to the Sunnegga and visit the marmot observation post. There you learn everything about these cute little animals. The Marmot Trail offers an ideal opportunity to watch the antics of these furry rodents, which live in burrows and are active by day. Walkers may be lucky enough to enjoy the charming sight of the young leaving the burrow for the first time.
Afterwards you enjoy a barbecue meal at the Leisee Lake. It is Zermatt’s beach with children’s playground, barbecue areas, picnic spots, pavillon for pic nic, play raft – and a glorious view of the Matterhorn. For children, this is a magical place to swim and play; as the lake is not deep, the water temperature is suitable for a dip, despite the altitude.
