After years of work, the restoration of the ‘Lorihiischi’ (Lori House) in Randa is complete. A celebratory opening took place on Saturday 10 August 2019. It will now be a living museum and is also available for events.

This winter, the Zermatt Matterhorn Brauerei will open its new event and tasting room, where guests can try a wide variety of beers from around the world. These include speciality beers made in-house - the popular classics, ‘Matterhorn’ and ‘Monte Rosa’ as well as seasonal specialities. A range of beer-themed events will make the new tasting room a great place to socialise. Opening times are Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 16:00 to 22:00 hrs.

The Valais prize for culture and business honours an event that makes an equal contribution to the region's culture and the economy. This year’s prize – awarded by the Cantonal Government for the fourth time – goes to the Zermatt Unplugged music festival. Since it was founded in 2007 the festival at the foot of the Matterhorn has developed into a must-see music event in Europe. The winner of the culture and business prize is awarded CHF 20,000.

Celebrating winter, celebrating Zermatt. A new series of events under the banner "Winter Celebrations Zermatt" is set to herald the winter season. Visitors and local residents can enjoy a wide-ranging programme at various locations in the four weeks from 17 December 2021 to 17 January 2022. Experience ice and light art in the village and get in the mood for winter.

On 2 and 3 November 2020, Zermatt will hold Digital Days for the first time; this event is taking place for the fourth time in Switzerland, this year in 23 locations. The event in Zermatt includes talks, discussions and panels on the topic of digitalisation in tourism and is aimed at members of Zermatt Tourism as well as interested participants from across Switzerland. The programme is free, but registration is required. Protecting visitors from COVID-19 is the top priority, so all locations have introduced strict safety measures.
