Designed with the summer in mind, The Terrace – perched on the roof of the Kitchen restaurant – is the new place to treat your taste buds at the Schweizerhof Zermatt. Enjoy lunch in the sun under the lush natural trellis designed by the architects Kristian Gavoille and Valérie Garcia. Against the mineral backdrop of the mountain peaks, the omnipresent greenery and trailing plants creates the perfect balance.
The architects’ main idea was to design a comfortable private garden and extend the indoor space outwards while fostering conviviality. Boasting brightly-coloured furniture, The Terrace is the perfect place to chill out and savour the delicious fare including an à la carte menu as well as dishes and desserts to share. Faithful to the spirit of Le Kitchen, the food is ultra-fresh, simple and seasonal, as illustrated by the signature salad of quinoa, pomegranate, avocado and chimichurri sauce.
As an added bonus, you can enjoy original recipes, fruit bursting with flavour and home-made ice creams and sorbets. With offerings such as strawberries with mint pesto and lime yogurt ice cream, the desserts provide unbridled pleasure. There is also a gourmet hut serving pastries, ice creams and crêpes.
