A special mention goes to Zermatterhof, which has gone up by seven places and is now hot on the Omnia’s heels. The Romantik Hotel Julen and the Chalet Hotel Schönegg are also new in the top hotel ranking for this year.
How are the hotels assessed?
Karl Wild and his team, comprising 16 hospitality and tourism experts, plus experienced travellers, visited all 125 hotels. They rated them according to the following categories: Holiday hotels, top value holiday hotels, wellness, city and family hotels and "Trouvaillen". To ensure a level playing field, only hotels with at least twelve bedrooms and their own restaurant were included.
