Zermatt can be accessed again

After being cut off for almost two days, Zermatt can now be accessed by train again.

Zermatt Tourism is reporting on the up-to-date situation.
The guests and local residents were not placed in any danger at any time – they had power and supplies.

The Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn has been running between Zermatt and Täsch again since 05:15 pm on Wednesday. Meaning travellers can reach Zermatt again.

Replacement buses are taking travellers for the railway line between Täsch and Visp. They are operating according to the timetable. http://bit.ly/zermatt-mgb-18-en

Work is being carried out at as a matter of urgency at the opening of the road between Täsch and Zermatt.

According to the avalanche bulletin from the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research, SLF, the danger level was lowered from 5 to 4 as of 8:00 am on Wednesday the 10th of January 2018. For more information about the forecast risk of avalanches, please visit:
