A tour of the village? A trip to the Gornergrat? A flight over the Matterhorn? The new "SBB VR" app lets you travel to Zermatt virtually. Simply download the app onto your smartphone, then travel virtually on Swiss Railways (SBB) to Zermatt and enjoy a panoramic view of various Zermatt locations. Choose from the centre of the village, the Wolli Adventure Park at Sunnegga, the Gornergrat and the Klein Matterhorn (including the Glacier Palace). If you’d like to see the summit of the Matterhorn without going up in a helicopter, you can do that in the app, too.
Win prizes
There are stars hidden at many of the virtual locations in the app with prizes worth 10,000 Swiss Francs if you find them. You can find gold stars every day and win a promotional code for the next excursion. Once a week, there is also a red star to be found in the app. These could win you Swiss Travel Passes, day tickets and short breaks. A short break to Zermatt comprises travel, three nights’ accommodation in a 4-star hotel, ski passes, a helicopter flight and a gourmet meal for two people. To take part in the competition, push notifications need to be active in the app.
Other destinations
As well as Zermatt, you can travel virtually in the app to Lugano, Lucerne, Arona, Basel or Zurich. You can also get a 360-degree view along the Gotthard Pass, the St. Gallen-Schaffhausen route and the Lucerne-Interlaken-Montreux route.

The app can be used on all Apple devices with iOS11 (or higher), with a minimum of an iPhone 6. The app can also be used with all Android devices that have at least Android 5.0. It is recommended that the app is only used with WiFi or unlimited data
