As part of the project for the new cable car from Zermatt to Furi, a new building is being constructed at the Schluhmatte valley station in the direction of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. The new building will offer generous space for an optimal flow of guests, modern ticket counters and an alternative for road traffic. The beautiful architecture featuring a light shaft in the middle of the building combines contemporary flair with high functionality and sustainability that meets the Minergie-P standard. The upper floors will feature rooms for ski lockers for convenient storage of ski equipment. A new airport-style luggage counter will also be built at the beginning of 2024, where Matterhorn Alpine Crossing guests can conveniently check in their luggage, allowing them to start the cable car journey to Italy with hand luggage only.
