Ski instructors and mountain guides join forces

30/11/2017

On 1 December 2017, the Alpin Center Zermatt and the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Zermatt joined forces under a new name, the "Zermatters". The goal is to provide guest services with a local perspective.

"Zermatters" is the name of the brand under which the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Zermatt and the Alpin Center Zermatt will work together beginning on 1 December 2017. The ski instructors and mountain guides have joined forces with the goal of supporting guests in the entire area of outdoor experiences.

Authentic Holiday Experience

The mission of Zermatters is to present the destination from the perspective of the local people. The Zermatt mountain guides and ski instructors are traditional groups and know the village and its surrounding natural setting in all of its facets. In this way, guests will be able to enjoy the insider tips and personal recommendations. "We want to present our home to our guests as we know and love it and with a large portion of tradition, involvement and passion," said the ski school director, Ralph Schmidhalter.

Long Tradition

The Alpin Center Zermatt has existed since 1888; the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Zermatt since 1929. They already share common office space. Ralph Schmidhalter is responsible for the ski, board and bike areas; Nathalie Steindl, as the head of the mountain guide assignments, is responsible for climbing and skiing with the mountain guides.
