Beat Wälti is the new Zermatters CEO

On 19 August 2019, experienced Marketing Director Beat Wälti, who has previously worked at Luzern Tourismus, Pilatus Bahnen and the SGV (Lake Lucerne Navigation), will become the new CEO of Zermatters, the outdoor services company.

The Swiss Ski & Snowboard School and the Alpin Center Zermatt recently completed their merger. This aims to provide visitors to the Zermatt – Matterhorn destination with an all-round outdoor service. The team comprises around 350 ski instructors, mountain guides, biking and hiking guides.

On 19 August 2019, Beat Wälti, who grew up in Bern, will take over as CEO of Zermatters. As a marketing director, he brings over 20 years’ experience in marketing, sales and product development. He has worked as a Product Manager for Schweiz Tourismus, CEO of geriberz Reisen, Sales and Marketing Director for SGV and Sales and Marketing Director for Pilatus Bahnen, where he was also a member of the executive management team. Between 2015 and 2019, he also worked at Luzern Tourismus as Sales and Marketing Director and member of the executive management team. Together with his team, he marketed the Lake Lucern region to 20 markets around the world, developed products and packages for the region, managed a network of around 40 service providers and played an active part in several committees and project groups. As manager of the online marketing team, he was also heavily involved with digitalisation projects and was responsible for planning strategic digital projects for 2020-2023 in the Lake Lucerne region.

He grew up in the Seeland region of Bern and has always loved the mountains. His first contact with Zermatters was in 2016 when a mountain guide helped him to climb Castor, his first four-thousander. Since then, he has been back to Zermatt – Matterhorn many times.

The Zermatters Board of Directors believes Beat Wälti is the ideal CEO to lead Zermatters into the future with confidence and passion.
