Chef Heinz Rufibach again at the Hotel Zermatterhof

19/05/2017

The Gault Millau chef de cuisine Heinz Rufibach is now in charge of the fine dining Restaurant Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni in the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. Regular guests and locals have a very good culinary memory of Rufibach. The Bern native was already chef de cuisine in the Zermatterhof from 1996 to 2002.

Heinz Rufibach is one of Zermatt’s established chefs. In this role and as an ambassador for Swiss cuisine he has become linked through his appearances and enjoys a reputation that reaches far beyond Switzerland’s borders. Heinz Rufibach has professionally remained true to his Swiss roots. He passionately lives out his sense of national identity in the kitchen. He is constantly seeking out new creations, places great value on the seasonality and local provenance of the products. And yet quality is more important for him that forced regionalism. He is a practical chef and consciously examines food products before they are part of his menus.

For all connoisseurs, who want to test what Heinz Rufibach is now creating in the Zermatthof themselves: The Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni is open evenings from 27 June to 17 September 2017.
