The famous black-nosed sheep are grazing in the Gornergrat area this summer. Between 25 June and 10 September 2022, it's easy to find them between Riffelalp and Gornergrat – their collars are GPS-tracked. Guests can track the sheep's signal here, then follow the path and meet the sheep on the mountain. The animals are tended by the shepherdess Deborah, who provides guests with entertaining information about the cute Valais sheep breed from Tuesday to Sunday between 1.30 pm and 3 pm. Guided tours to the sheep are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 July, where visitors can feed the animals and find out more about their interesting background. A Meet the Sheep trail will also be launched this summer, leading guests to the most attractive view points in the area, with fascinating information about our woolly friends and other indigenous animals.
