Since the 2020 summer season, Maisons Matthiol’s facilities – their four-star boutique hotel, nine Matthiol serviced apartments and the Stafelalp mountain restaurant – now also includes two chalets comprising five apartments and a converted stable, offering a total of forty beds. Owner and manager Sarah Schwarzenbach is thrilled about the new additions: “These two chalets enable us to offer guests more spacious accommodation with greater privacy.”
Monte Cristo Apartments
The chalets include the “Monte Cristo” and the “Pizzo Fiamma”, both situated in Tuftern. The Monte Cristo Apartments are in a scenic location between the mountains and the village. The modern, chalet-style building has been constructed using high-quality wood and stone and offers three 3-bed apartments and one 4-bed apartment. In winter, guests can access the pistes directly outside the building, which also has a ski room and a laundry room. For a supplement, guests can use the wellness area in Hotel Matthiol, located opposite the apartments.
Chalet Pizzo Fiamma with apartment and converted stables
Chalet Pizzo Fiamma is surrounded by high peaks and dense forests and offers a stylish 1-bed apartment, ideal for a relaxing Alpine holiday. The charming converted stable offers accommodation over two floors and is wonderful for honeymooners, with guests having clear views of the Matterhorn from their bed. Originally used to store hay, the stable is now a small but stylish chalet for keen mountain visitors. Guests at the Pizzo Fiamma can use the spa and fitness area in the Boutique Hotel Matthiol for free.
The apartments in both buildings offer fully equipped kitchens. Their proximity to the Boutique Hotel Matthiol also means guests can enjoy the hotel's services, too.
