Italian enjoyment

A hint of the Italian lifestyle comes to Zermatt: In November 2017, the new Italian coffee house Cup's opens its gates. It is located on the premises of the former Roc Sport on the Kirchbrücke in Zermatt. The offer includes Italian coffee varieties, drinks made from homemade syrup, milkshakes and smoothies as well as sweet and salty pastries and snacks. All offerings are to take away or to enjoy on the premises.

New in the Hotel Mirabeau: Marie’s Deli

On 9 December 2017, a new restaurant will open in the Hotel Mirabeau called Marie's Deli. Besides the wine specialties, it offers hot and cold food throughout the day and well into the late evening hours. Local and international as well as homemade delicacies are served. Marie's Deli replaces the Corbeau D'Or restaurant, which was famous for its gourmet cuisine. Chef Alain Kuster and his team continue to pamper guests in the restaurant Veranda.

New Brasserie in the Beau Site

The Parkhotel Beau Site has a new restaurant concept. This places a focus on an innovative French cuisine with homemade creations from regional and seasonal products. The typical French brasserie opens in December 2017.

New chef in the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof

The 55-year old Heinz Rufibach took over the direction of the Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni as the chef de cuisine in the summer of 2017. In winter, he will be in charge of all of the restaurants in the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. Local and regular guests have vivid culinary memories of Rufibach. Originally from Canton Bern, he was previously chef de cuisine in the Zermatterhof from 1996 to 2002.

New Apéro Lounge in the village centre

The Grand Hotel Zermatterhof provides a new apéro meeting place in the centre of the village. The redesigned terrace with lounge chairs invites everyone to sit, chat and enjoy outdoors. In winter, it is open from noon until late afternoon. With a view of the Matterhorn, one can order tasty delights from the brasserie menu. In addition, there is a large selection of wine and cocktails on offer.

Renovated restaurant in the Riffelalp Resort

The Riffelalp Resort has renovated its rooms and accommodations. On 1 December 2017, the Restaurant Alexandre, the banquet hall, the fumoir and the bar will radiate in new splendour. The guests may look forward to exciting dishes from the new chef, Luigi Lafranco.

Renovated Bar in the Mont cervin palace

In the Mont Cervin Palace, Joseph’s Bar and the Le Restaurant dining room will be renovated in fall 2017. The dining offers are also being freshened up.

Larger terrace at the Alphitta

Skiers and winter hikers enjoy making a pit stop at the Alphitta below Riffelalp. The new enlarged terrace now provides even more room for guests. And the view of the Matterhorn from here is incomparable.
