One Day Snow Experience

Enjoy discovering the mountains and make your first turns with your own ski guide on the ski pistes. This is a ski day which will remain an unforgettable memory for you. And such an outing also means that a Zermatt ski guide will get you started in pleasures of skiing or snowboarding. Included in the package: snow-sports guide, entire equipment rental, ski pass (Wolli-Pass). The activity lasts 3.5 hours including 2.5 hours of private instruction in the Wolli Park for beginners near Leisee (2,232 m) with a direct view of the mighty Matterhorn. Ski Guide Who Speak Chinese

The private Matterhorn Diamonds ski school offers snow sports instruction of Chinese-speaking guests in the 2016/2017 winter. This runs from mid-December 2016 to the end of April 2017. The Stoked ski school also has two Chinese-speaking ski guide in their programme for the 2016/2017 winter season.


Stöckli Ski Testing Throughout the Entire Winter

Zermatt has the so-called Ski-Zapping models from the Swiss ski brand Stöckli available for testing at Trockener Steg (2,939 m). For the first time these are available throughout the entire winter. The latest models are set for your own ski boots and off you go on the pistes. From 14 October 2016 to 16 April 2017.


Information About 3S Cable Car Construction

A new cable car line between Trockener Steg (2,939 m) and Matterhorn glacier paradise (3,883 m), the 3S gondola lift is under construction with a planned opening for the 2018-2019 winter season. The InfoCube next to the cable car station shows what will happen in the near future on the highest construction site in Europe. And with virtual reality goggles, you can ride now on the not yet completed lift. Opens in December 2016.


Observing the Bearded Vulture

Zermatt – Matterhorn is not only the famous ski region at the Matterhorn but also a mountainous landscape with many four thousand-metre peaks, which are home to rare and protected wildlife and rare birds. Recently, a new bearded vulture pair settled down and raised a fledgling. In winter, the three representatives of the largest bird species in the Alps, with a wingspan up to 2.6 m, can be observed. For instance, when then are soaring in the air around the Riffelhorn or in the mountainous area to the west of the village of Zermatt.
