New concept :After a two-year break, the Folklore Festival is back with a brand new image. The organising committee has used the downtime to rework the concept and to reposition the festival. One of the largest cultural events of the summer will return to its roots, with the number of associations taking part limited to 30 groups in the future. The procession will also move from its previous Sunday afternoon slot to take place on the Saturday afternoon. The theme of nostalgia will also play a prominent role in the event. On Sunday, a variety of groups will perform their music on the mountain and in the village.

Saturday, 13 August 2022:

Until 12:30 hrs Individual arrival of the clubs in Zermatt
From 11:00 hrs Canteen service at the festival site obere Matten & Kirchplatz
11:00 – 13:00 hrs Performance by the Kloten brass band on the church square
13:00 hrs Assembly of the associations on the upper Matten*.
13:30 hrs March of the parade (usual route through Zermatt)
Ab 14:45 hrs Performances by the associations on the festival square and church square
19:00 hrs Yodelling mass in the church of St. Mauritius

* Associations will be called and can get ready in Getwingstrasse. Start is at the Bahnhofplatz.

Sunday, 14 August 2022:

10:00 hrs Sunday Mass in the church of St. Mauritius Zermatt
Ab 11:00 hrs Short performances on the mountain and in the village* (Sunnegga, Riffelberg, Gornergrat, Furi)
Ab 16:30 hrs Individual departure of the groups
