Zermatt – Matterhorn stands out because of the number and variety of mountain-climbing opportunities. From straightforward Alpine four-thousanders to challenging tours: This is where dreams are realised. Whether it's on the Matterhorn or one of the other 37 four-thousanders that surround it. Thanks to modern infrastructure, some goals can be reached in a day tour – but you still have to rise early. The tours on which you stay overnight in one of the many mountain huts are particularly attractive.
Alles rund ums Klettern
Neben den grossen, bekannten Hochtouren kann man in Zermatt – Matterhorn auch gemütlichere Tage an der Felswand verbringen. Spektakuläre Aussicht inklusive. Mitten im Dorf oder bei der Fluhalp lassen sich leichtere Touren finden. Am Riffelhorn wurden zahlreiche Mehrseillängenrouten eingerichtet. Manche sind sogar mit Bergschuhen machbar. Diese werden gerne als Vorbereitung für das Matterhorn gemacht. Im Klettergebiet Dossen warten gleich mehrere Wände. Abgesehen vom Sektor «Mischisand» bewegen sich die Routen dieses Klettergebiets hauptsächlich im siebten und achten Schwierigkeitsgrat.
