Hotels in Zermatt are always at the top of the ratings
The hotels in Zermatt come out on top. This can be seen once again in the latest rating of the SonntagsZeitung newspaper. Furthermore, Boris Wolffgardt from the Mont Cervin Palace hotel has been selected as concierge of 2013. Congratulations!
The best hotel establishments are divided into five categories: The best holiday hotels, city hotels, spa hotels, family hotels and ‘nice-price’ holiday hotels. Of course, no hotel in Zermatt can be among the best city hotels, because they are set in such a purely alpine environment.

Boris Wolffgardt - Concierge of the year 2013
"The third most important person in the running of a hotel, besides the hotel owner and the chef, is the concierge," wrote the SonntagsZeitung newspaper on 26 May 2013. He knows the special needs of their regular guests. For the concierge of the 5-star Mont Cervin Palace in Zermatt, the service goes much further than that: "For me there is no ‘No’," he says in the SonntagsZeitung newspaper. He has worked as the head concierge at the Mont Cervin Palace for five years. He knows the Zermatt bars, all of the 20 restaurants in Zermatt with Gault Millau points, the hiking trails and the slopes, so he can offer the guests really valuable advice. He carries out his work "discreetly, knowledgeably, competently, cordially and, unobtrusively - the perfect concierge," continues the newspaper. A real Zermatt Insider - congratulations!
Edelweiss: Stopping off to savour a bite to eat instead of picnicking
The fact that Zermatt can lay claim to 60 mountain restaurants makes the hiking and snow sports experience an even more incomparable experience here. These establishments include world-famous mountain restaurants and even small mountain inns that have won a place in the heart of their regulars. An example of this is the mountain restaurant Edelweiss, perched boldly on a rock at 1,960 m above the village and which can only be reached in the summer after a one-hour walk. The SonntagsZeitung newspaper also pays tribute to this gem, because certain delicious dishes cannot be enjoyed on a picnic. That is why they rave about the homemade barley soup of the Edelweiss, but also about the fine cakes, which can only be enjoyed when you stop off to savour them in the alpine surroundings.
