Zermatt – the perfect place for further training and group experiences

Zermatt is the exclusive destination for seminars and incentive activities. Companies will find everything needed to reward their best employees. Seminar, congress and further-training venues with top facilities are in Top Zermatt Standard. And all set in a magnificent mountain world.

Good employees should be rewarded. For example with a stay in Zermatt. Skilled personnel need intercommunication and further training. For example with a meeting in inspiring and relaxing surroundings. In professional circles, such trips are referred to as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Events). On a special website, Zermatt Tourism shows which activities are available and which partner companies offer MICE activities. The website also gives details of attractive seminar packages with different lengths of stay.

In recent years, Zermatt has also been discovered as an ideal venue for one-day seminar excursions. The Lötschberg basis tunnel has cut by one hour the arrival from cities in the Swiss Mittelland such as Basel, Zurich and Bern. Zermatt can now be reached from Bern in only 2:07 hours.

Zermatt: an exclusive village
Zermatt is car free. So your stay begins as soon as you arrive at the railway terminal in Täsch, where all cars must be parked. It takes just 10 minutes for shuttle trains or limousine taxis to carry visitors from the car park to the village at the foot of the Matterhorn, the most photographed mountain in the world. The only traffic here consists of small electric vehicles, electric buses and horse-drawn carriages. But by far the best way to get around is on foot. And Zermatt has still more to offer: skiing 365 days a year, 300 days of sunshine per year or a trip with Europe’s highest-altitude aerial gondola to the Matterhorn glacier paradise. Not to mention the culinary delights waiting in the 17 GaultMillau restaurants in the village or one of the traditional-rich mountain restaurants.

It’s the mix
Zermatt is the preferred, prestigious and dream destination of all mountain fans, offering fantastic activities in nature – in both summer and winter. The mix of nature, sport, amenities and range of activities is simply unique. Climbing in unusually high surroundings, skiing in summer too, hiking trails with breathtaking views, helicopter flights, admiring the magical Matterhorn – that’s Zermatt!
Emphasis on advice
Advice plays a key role in ensuring that participants enjoy the right experiences in the right surroundings. Two local event agencies prepare possible programmes for MICE activities. Some examples: abseiling through the Gornerschlucht gorge or into a glacier crevasse, mastering a fixed-rope route, summer skiing, clambering through the tree tops or marvelling at crystal statues in the Glacier Palace with a Valais aperitif in the hand. Those with their sights set higher can conquer their first 4000-metre-mountain, the Breithorn (4164 m). The programme can also include activities to promote team spirit – such as a fun Olympics. The services of local guides and professionals are called on for these activities and their skill, calm manner and know-how will ensure a successful top-class event. Need an example? A large pharmaceutical company treated 200 of their best sales staff as kings. The employees were given VIP treatment in a special train on the trip to Riffelboden and then had a great time with traditional activities including Swiss wrestling with the national champion, wood chopping and much more.

Seminar facilities in unusual surroundings
Zermatt can also offer facilities (venues) into which holiday guests seldom venture and are thus insider tips. For example the seminar room at the restaurant on the Matterhorn glacier paradise at 3800 metres above sea level with views of the Matterhorn. Most certainly somewhere to send motivation sky high! If total concentration is needed, we can offer a seminar room inside a cave. Nine hotels offer services and seminar rooms with rooms to accommodate 2 to 360 persons. Those who prefer an informal yet totally private atmosphere can hold meetings in an own chalet.

Doing your own thing in Zermatt
Zermatt also means easy relaxation without a programme or dress code. There are small chic bars where you can meet in a friendly atmosphere, exchange philosophies on life and make casual contact with other guests. Or enjoy being pampered in one of the five locales in the legendary Hotel Post before enjoying the nightlife in the same establishment. Who knows, other nightlife lovers may sway you to move on to the other bars and clubs. Zermatt is pure pleasure. And as there’s never enough time to discover it all at once, the motto is “Come again”.
