Freeski: Zermatt’s Yannic Lerjen is the best
Zermatt has a champion once again: Yannic Lerjen successfully defended his title, at the beginning of April 2012, putting up a fantastic performance to take the championship title in the overall ranking on the Swisscom Freeski Tour.
After 24 tour stops, the Swisscom Freeski Tour ended in Les Croset, with Zermatt’s 22-year-old Yannic Lerjen as champion. Who would take the title was unclear to the very end, but Lerjen put in a fantastic final sprint to beat Christian Bieri from Sörenberg – who until then had dominated the tour – into second place.
Thanks to his win in the Swisscom Freeski Tour, Lerjen also took eighth place in the Swiss Championships.
Whether Yannic Lerjen has been elected “Most Valuable Swiss Rider” MVSR will soon be revealed. Voting is very close. Come on Zermatt fans!
