The cookbook “Zermatt for Gourmets” has received the Silver Laurel

29 top chefs and producers present their best recipes in “Zermatt for Gourmets”. This book was awarded the Silver Laurel 2010 of the Historia Gastronomica Helvetica at the end of April 2011, and is the very best reference for the printer Weber Thun and the pleasure destination Zermatt. 

The award goes to the author Annette Weber, the photographer Marcus Gyger and the Weber printing house in Thun. The Zermatt recipes and pictures invite you to copy and enjoy them. Hotels, restaurants, chefs, bakers and many others present their culinary highlights in this cookbook. The work that has been awarded the Silver Laurel symbolizes the variety of the gastronomic options available in Zermatt. Most of the operations presented through their recipes work closely together with local producers, and place their emphasis on regional authenticity.

A total of eight works received the Gold Laurel, and thirteen the Silver Laurel. Under the chairmanship of Emil Blümli, the jury of the of the “Historia Gastronomica Helvetica“ association critically evaluated around 100 books relating to the culture of dining that appeared in the year 2010. The Historia Gastronomica Helvetica effectively awards the “Oscars” for cookbooks in the German-speaking area.
