Zermatt Unplugged: Advance sales now open

The queen of hip-hop, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and the New Yorker musician Peter Cincotti will give their special touch to the 5th Zermatt Unplugged. The entire line-up is now known, and the advance ticket sales have started.

You can look forward to five days of spring pleasure with great musical highlights from the 17th to the 21st April 2012. At the fifth edition of Zermatt Unplugged, the musicians will once again be playing in the large marquee in the centre, but also at many other locations in the village. Quite extraordinary moments are promised by the Sunnegga Sessions, a new series of concerts in the ski area at 2,288 m above sea level, which are programmed to start at sunset. A welcome by an open fire after a day on the mountain, a hot soup, and then 45 minutes of acoustic music. Advance ticket sales for this side event: from 14th February 2012.

Highlight for hip-hop fans
A style-goddess of the 90’s is back: Ms. Lauryn Hill. After not hearing much about her for some time, 2012 now promises to be the year of the comeback of the ex-Fugees singer. She won no less than five Grammy’s with her solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and is regarded as being the most successful R'n'B act since Michael Jackson. She produced the most successful hip-hop album of all time with the Fugees.

Peter Cincotti is the name of the Saturday evening act in the Vernissage Club. Influenced by the various genres in his home town of New York, it’s the classically beautiful ballads and a casual sound between jazz and rock that makes the talented pianist Cincotti so fascinating. He achieved his greatest success in Switzerland, Italy and France with the Song Goodbye Philadelphia.

Additional highlights: Chris de Burgh, Newton Faulkner, Amy Macdonald, Clueso & Bernewitz Trio, Jonathan Jeremiah, Grégoire, Brooke Fraser, Aloe Blacc and much more.
