„Best oft the Alps Classic Rally“ makes a stop in Täsch
Zermatt is car-free. But, of course, this doesn’t stop the participants in the Best of the Alps Classic Rally from driving up the Matter valley. The rally runs up to Täsch, near Zermatt, which is the end of the first stage. The rally will cross the Alps from the 24th to the 30th June 2012.
On the 24th June, the rally participants will arrive at the end of the first stage in Täsch in their vintage cars, all older than 1986, between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.– some changes in the expected time of arrival may arise. The route leads over mountain roads and passes, past glaciers and alpine meadows to the prestigious mountain stage stops.
This first edition of the Best of the Alps Classic Rally starts in Megève, France, and ends in Grindelwald, a stretch of 1,500 kilometres. 40 old-timers are taking part, and it is still possible to enrol. After Täsch, the race continues to Grindelwald via Lech am Arlberg, Garmisch Partenkirchen, Seefeld and St. Moritz.
The BOTA destinations The ‘Best of the Alps’ is the European association of twelve world-famous tourist destinations in the Alpine region. The well-known Best of the Alps Alpine destinations in France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland include: Chamonix Mont-Blanc, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Davos, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Grindelwald, Kitzbühel, Lech Zürs am Arlberg, Megève, Seefeld, St. Anton am Arlberg, St. Moritz and Zermatt.
Registration Up to the 15th May 2012. Forty old-timers with construction year before 1986 can participate in the Classic Rally.
