Zermatt Festival 2013: Youth meets classical

The world of classical music returns to Zermatt - the Zermatt Festival will kick off on 30 August 2013. Among this year’s very special guests are the German soprano singer Mojca Erdmann and the French-German cellist Nicolas Altstaedt.

Classical music reaches a peak – it’s all happening at this year’s Zermatt Festival between 30 August and 15 September. The two young performers, Mojca Erdmann and Nicolas Altstaedt, have been creating quite a stir on the international stage. On the subject of young artists: the Festival Academy, giving musicians from all around the world the opportunity to learn from members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra’s Scharoun Ensemble, will once again be a highlight. The Festival Orchestra offers students and teachers the chance to join their talents and perform four concerts on the second and third weekend of the festival. Music fans may also attend the young musicians’ rehearsals in the rehearsal rooms kindly provided by the Zermatt Hoteliers.
