Gourmets will be flocking to Zermatt’s Swiss Food Festival in droves. For three days, from 9 to 11 August 2013, the Matterhorn village will be all about local delicacies. On Saturday, passers-by can sample culinary delights on Kirchplatz.
Zermatt’s five-star hotels, Mont Cervin Palace and Zermatterhof, are now offering their guests delicious drinks and food in a relaxed open-air atmosphere. Guests from the sweltering lowlands are invited to take in the crisp Alpine air in the two new Zermatt lounges.
Sitting together in the comfort of Zermatt’s summer brilliance – locals and guests alike. This is on the programme several times throughout the summer in the Matterhorn village. On 10 July, 1 August (Switzerland’s national holiday), and 21 August. Festival tables and benches are set up along the Bahnhofstrasse and the selection of food and drink is rich indeed.
The Matterhorn village will once again welcome some of the world’s greatest musicians from 30 August to 15 September this year. And what makes the Zermatt Festival special is that master musicians give tips to young musicians on their profession. The practice sessions take place in many of Zermatt’s hotels, and visitors and listeners are welcome.
2000 participants will set out along the St. Niklaus-Zermatt marathon course on 6 July. This race is a wonderful attraction for spectators – whether from a train car along the route or on the course from Zermatt to Gornergrat via Sunnegga.
