Elvira Bachanek (31) received the renowned Swiss Bar Awards “Barkeeper of the Year 2012” title in Zurich at the end of September. The successful barkeeper has been working at the Hexenbar in Zermatt for the last five years.

Zermatt is the winter sports destination where one can enjoy 365 days of ski sports. You can now test out the latest models of skis in Zermatt from October to the end of November. So one can ensure that in winter time the skis are the right model. New this year: Book three nights plus an extra night.

Zermatt Tourism was nominated for the Milestone award’s Young Talent prize on 27 September 2012. Of the 92 contenders for the coveted Swiss tourism award, 20 have made it to the nomination – and this includes Zermatt Tourism’s “Cooperative eCRM Zermatt” project.

Zermatt wird mit den Matterhorn Ultraks um eine grosse Sportattraktion reicher. Die Team-Skitourenrennen finden ab dem Frühling 2013 alle zwei Jahre, das heisst immer in den ungeraden Jahren statt. Erstmals werden diese Rennen am Samstag, 20. April 2013 durchgeführt. Die Strecken führen durch die Schneehänge von Zermatt. Auch für die Zuschauer ist mehrfach gesorgt.

Air Zermatt has expanded its fleet with Europe's most modern helicopter. From mid-September, a helicopter Type Bell 429 will fly for the famous mountain rescue service. The Swiss helicopter company stands for reliability and speed. The Air Zermatt specialists rescue casualties from the mountains and out of glacier crevasses as well as performing transport assignments and touristic flights.
