Matterhorn glacier paradise: New Ice Sculptures

The summit at the Klein Matterhorn, the Matterhorn glacier paradise, has many new attractions in store for guests. An ice slide in the enlarged Glacier Palace. And a new window affording fabulous views towards the Breithorn.

There are even new experiences to discover on the trip to the Matterhorn glacier paradise; the aerial cableway cabin is now also a place of information. On the journey from Trockener Steg (2949 m) to the top station (3880 m), visitors can hear background information on the history of the aerial cableway and the surrounding mountain world as well as on offers at the summit – and all in various languages.

At the top, in the middle of the mountain, a new panorama window hewn from the rock affords awe-inspiring views towards the Breithorn (4165 m). Watch roped climbers making their way to the summit. Above the flanks of the Theodul Glacier, large black Alpine choughs circle in the freezing wind. Amateur photographers will also be in their element with good photo points specifically marked for them.
In the world’s highest-altitude glacier palace, you can discover natural ice formations and authentic glacier crevasses – one of them accessible. Ice crystals and bizarre ice sculptures glisten in a shimmering blue light. The new ice slide will delight youngsters and the young at heart. And fur-covered seating allows you to sit and let the ice work its magic on you. The newly designed event room gives groups the opportunity to organize exceptional experiences.
