In Zermatt over 70% of all pistes are covered in artificial snow or are situated on glaciers. How is the artificial snow created? How much water and energy are needed and where does the water come from? You will find the answers to these questions and many others by visiting the Zermatt artificial snow system.
Why not start your day’s skiing a little earlier and enjoy virgin snow on the ski runs between Trockener Steg and Furi? You will get to the ski area before the cable cars start and are the first to get «in the swing» of things. From 08.30 a.m. – 10.30 a.m. you can spoil yourself with a breakfast buffet in the Restaurant «Les Marmottes» at Furi.
Visit the Igloo Village in the middle of the Zermatt ski region! There's hardly any other place to stay that holds more romantic expectations than an igloo. A relaxing round of aperitifs and mulled wine is served before guests enjoy a cheese fondue. Entertainment is provided by the Singing Ice Bear.
Would you like to experience how the pistes are prepared, find out what you must watch out for, where the difficulties lie and what experience is needed? You are welcome to come along, but you must have time from 04.00 p.m. until about 08.00 p.m. We guarantee you’ll have a one-of-a-kind experience.
Two nights a week there is also a journey to Furi. From there a thrilling toboggan ride takes you back to Zermatt. The toboggan evening offers you pure fun and adventure in the snow. Can be combined with a cozy lodge evening.
