Once again, the ski area around Zermatt is considered to be one of the best in the world. According to National Geographic, the Zermatt ski area is the only Swiss ski resort included among the 25 best in the world.
The Gletschergarten (Glacier Garden) in Lucerne is a magnet for mountain fans. Among other items, a special exhibition, “Top of the Alps”, is now showing magnificent mountain panorama pictures from the Zermatt photographer Matthias Taugwalder.
In the Travelers‘ Choice Awards 2012 of the travel portal TripAdvisor, the Zermatt Mountain Boutique Resort received the notation «Probably the best resort in the Alps» together with the 10th place in Europe and 20th place worldwide. The rating was created by independent travellers who use the portal.
The queen of hip-hop, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and the New Yorker musician Peter Cincotti will give their special touch to the 5th Zermatt Unplugged. The entire line-up is now known, and the advance ticket sales have started.

The network of the Matterhorn cross-country skiing trails has been extended this season with the re-opening of the trails used for the Junior World Championship in 1989. The new section is technically demanding, and perfectly rounds off the range of trails on offer.
Platform, parking spaces and a kiosk with small bistro-style standing tables are now available to incoming guests in Zermatt. The “Welcome” Terminal “Urania” in the Spiss was recently opened.
