The Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2013. To mark this occasion, a range of public events has been planned for the whole year. And what is more, our Valais customers can enjoy access to low-priced ski tickets until April 2013.

It’s the highlight of the year for friends of freeriding and freestyling. In early February the world’s top 16 skiers will be gathering in Zermatt for a week to compete in the Swatch Skiers Cup 2013.

Zermatt will have more than 300 km of prepared runds open for this weekend, 21st December 2012, thanks to the good snow conditions. The toboggan rund on Gornergrat and the hiking trails are also already open.

For the year 2013 and once again, the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) will be offering its brunch train trips. During the week as well as on Sundays. The Sunday trips will now run from 27 January to 7 April 2013. An experience in a panoramic car on the Brig-Zermatt route.

Next spring from 9 to 13 April 2013 marks the sixth time that Zermatt Unplugged – that extraordinary music festival – will be held. We now know what the main acts will be and advance ticket sales have started. The highlights: Umberto Tozzi, Die Fantastischen Vier, Bryan Ferry.

For the fourth successive time, the skiing destination Zermatt Matterhorn was voted the best skiing area in 2013 by the German ‘ski bible‘, the ADAC SkiGuide, at the end of November 2012. This was in the category “alpine skiing“. Particular praise was given for the mixture of different types of pistes.

Zermatt's hotels have proved once again that they are in a class of their own. In the latest SonntagsZeitung ratings published at the end of November 2012 many of Zermatt's hotels have done very well yet again.
