Easter is a time full of colourful surprises for kids. Who wants to make an Easter bunny? And who wants to meet Wolli, the young Zermatt black-nosed sheep who likes kids? He’ll be around at Easter with his friend the Easter bunny!
The Breithorn (4164 m) near Zermatt has now been mastered with a snow bike: a world record. Never before have no fewer than nine people ridden down on snow bikes from a mountain over 4000 metres high. The adventurous group was made up mainly of Valais celebrities, who rode down from the famous glacier-mountain summit towards the Matterhorn glacier paradise (3883 m).

The organizers of Zermatt Unplugged are currently over the moon, with one concert sold out and a sharply increasing demand for all other concerts. As early as last week, OneRepublic were able to put up the “sold” sign! And now the Swedish group, Mando Diao, are gaining ground.
With teamwork, knowledge and experience, Daniel Aufdenblatten and Richard Lehner from Zermatt saved the lives of three mountaineers. On Annapurna (Nepal) in spring 2010, they carried out the highest-ever mountain rescue – at 7000 metres altitude – by helicopter. In Washington DC today, they received on march 8 2011 the ‘Aviation Oscar’, the Heroism Award, for their feat.
Martin Anthamatten is the golden boy! Yesterday he took surprise first place in the sprint discipline in the Ski Mountaineering World Championships in Claut, Italy. The man from Zermatt is thus the 2011 World Champion in the newest discipline in ski mountaineering.
They come from Switzerland, Great Britain, America, Germany and Australia: New Talents – 14 talented soloists or bands who will be playing during the festival period on 6 stages of Zermatt Unplugged from 1 p.m. in the afternoon to 2 o’clock in the morning.
