Air Zermatt is world famous. But it not only rescues alpinists from the steepest faces of the 4000-metre mountains around Zermatt. Working together with local people, it has also built up a new rescue station in the Himalayas. This work will be shown on TV at the end of December 2011. But there will first be film premieres in Zermatt and Visp.

The Italian neighbours of the Zermatt ski area have upgraded their facilities: The new aerial cable cars in Breuil/Cervinia represent design of the very best, and has substantially increased the transport capacity between Cime Bianche Laghi and Plateau Rosà.
The Restaurant Le Capri once again holds a Michelin star. The restaurant in the Hotel Mont Cervin Palace had already been nominated as “the best Italian in Switzerland” by the GaultMillau gourmet guide.
A fresh dynamism, young entrepreneurs and the unchallenged Number 1 in terms of quality: the Swiss business magazine BILANZ has once again applauded the Zermatt-Matterhorn winter-sport destination.
An honour for Swiss Youth Hostels: they received the Swiss Solar Prize on the 10th October 2011. For Zermatt, this is a further milestone for sustainability. Because the Youth Hostel Zermatt was the first Swiss youth hostel with the Minergie standard.
